Match Report – Bridlington Town 3 – 0 Goole #Bridlington_TownJanuary 8, 2019
Modest was on hand to shoot, but his shot was blocked well by Goole keeper James Hitchcock, but his block fell to the feet of Modest, who hammered the ball home from 5 yards.
Goole’s Harry Thompson, shortly after the restart, was unlucky to not be through on goal after a run toward the Bridlington goal.
Town would have to wait until just before the end of the first half to double their lead.
Town started the second half the same as the first; fast paced and looking for more goals.
Seasiders captain Andy Norfolk came shockingly close with a half-shot-half-cross from 20 yards out.
His attempt was inches over the top corner of the Goole goal.
Daniel Barrett made a great attempt, but Jackson was quick off the mark to close down the shot.
Jackson again showed why he’s one of the best keepers in the league (if not the best) later in the half.
A quick run down the wing from the Goole player lead to a fine curling shot that looked to be looping over Jackson and into the goal.
As the game came to a close Town looked good value for their victory and will go onto the next game against Harrogate Railway Athletic full of confidence.
