Applications for correcting mistakes in property documents can be made at the respective Sub Registrars’ Offices (SRO), according to Inspector General of Registrations J Kumaragurbaran.
In an official release issued here on Friday, he said if property holders or buyers found any differences between entries made in the certified Encumbrance Certificate and other documents obtained online, they could approach the respective Sub Registrar Offices directly instead of coming to the office of the Inspector General of Registration.
“Once applications are made, they are checked with the parent document in the Sub Registrar’s Office and are referred to the District Registrar for corrections.
Once it is cleared, the corrections would reflect in the documents available online,” Mr. Kumaragurubaran said.
In case, there were mistakes in the original parent document of the property, they need to be corrected by applying for a rectification deed, he added.
More details are available on the website: https://tnreginet.gov.in , the release said.
