From Spain: Blow 4 Valencia against Celtic As they face ‘unexpected’ loss Of player #West_HamFebruary 12, 2019
Celtic against Valencia this week is one of the most intriguing European matches around, despite it being in the Europa League.
Both are grand teams of European football, and Brendan Rodgers will know how big a good result at Celtic Park would be against the Spanish side.
Valencia have received a blow, report their local media SuperDeporte , and that can only be good news for Celtic.
The club had been expecting to be able to use Facundo Roncaglia.
He joined in the winter transfer window and made his debut at the weekend in a 0-0 draw with Real Sociedad.
Playing in central defence, the 32 year old was one of the best performers on the pitch, and so was expected to line up against Celtic in Glasgow.
But it won’t be happening.
Super Deporte say Valencia are suffering the ‘unexpected’ loss because Roncaglia has an old European ban hanging over him… of four matches.
He picked up a red card playing for Celta Vigo against Manchester United in 2017, and still hasn’t served it.
That means he won’t be playing against Celtic, in either match.
