Lakers shut down Ball, Ingram for rest of seasonMarch 12, 2019
The Lakers went 15-8 when LeBron James , Ingram and Ball all played this season. The team will probably fail to reach the playoffs and injuries are a big part of that – with Lebron missing 18 games, Rondo , Beasley, Kuzma missing some. The news don’t get better for the Lakers-
Sources said Ball has been shut down after trying to make his way back from a Grade 3 ankle sprain and bone bruise first suffered Jan. 19.
Ball met again with team doctors Saturday. It was apparently decided to shut the point guard down for the season
Following the team’s 120-107 loss to the Boston Celtics on Saturday night,In a statement issued by the Lakers, they would only say that Ball is making “good progress” in his recovery and will be re-evaluated again in two weeks.
The Lakers hope that Ball, 21, will be able to heal fully and have time to work on his game this offseason.
“From my eye, not being a doctor, he’s not quite ready,” Walton said before Ball was shut down.
But I want to go out there and compete and play every game as best as I can.”
Ingram had missed the past two games after he had difficulty raising his arm without pain.
In an interview with coach Luke Walton, he would not go into further detail about Ingram’s condition.
Prominent athletes such as Chris Bosh and Serena Williams have been diagnosed with blood clots in recent years. Bosh was actually forced to retire from basketball. Lakers fans can only prayer for a better season next season both on and off the court.
