Ahead of the series finale on Sunday, “Game of Thrones” fans were buzzing Tuesday about a remarkable notion: “The Simpsons” may just have predicted a major development in the final season of the HBO series.
In the most recent episode of “Game of Thrones,” titled “The Bells,” Daenerys Targaryen is given the chance to show mercy on the people of King’s Landing, the city she had conquered.
The penultimate episode saw a decisive turn for one character in particular.
A 2017 “Game of Thrones”-themed episode of “The Simpsons” called “The Serfsons” shows a dragon razing the home village of the family as they watch from a distance.
“Look, the dragon is burning our village!” Bart says.

In a 2000 episode called “Bart to the Future,” the show flashes forward to see Lisa as president .
In the episode, she has to clean up the economic devastation wrought by the Trump administration.
The show even pictured Trump riding down an escalator in front of a crowd, as he did in 2015 when making the announcement that he would run for president.
